I have known and consulted with Katherine Rich-Elzig for the last 24 years. She is an incredible talent in multi disciplines. Such as, she has a knowledge base that prepares her to work well with any horse she is working with. Kindness and honesty are her mantra, and she has the vision to excel in the new demands of 21st century horsemanship.

Katherine Rich-Elzig has been my daughter’s coach for the past 2.5 years, and her guidance has been pivotal to my daughter’s success as a rider. Katherine’s patience, combined with her ability to inspire riders to continually push their limits creates a truly empowering environment.

She has an exceptional talent for matching riders with the right horses, ensuring the perfect fit for each individual. Katherine takes the time to understand and work toward her rider’s goals, and as a result, my daughter has achieved remarkable success, earning multiple regional and national titles.

My daughter started riding with Katherine at the age of 10 and for the next 8 years developed into a strong, competitive, advanced rider. My daughter was able to compete at the National AHA Championships and in Open Dressage shows throughout those years. Through Katherine’s investment and commitment she developed riding skills and insight into training horses that has taken her much beyond the show arena.

Katherine’s true talent is conveying and teaching her students to understand the “why” in training their horses. She has a natural understanding of the needs of the horse, as well as challenges and barriers to reaching their greatest potential. Her expectations and vision are what drive her students to be their consummate best. This is evident in every competition where her students and horses routinely stand out in performance and presentation.

Our daughter, Saylor, started riding at 4-years-old with the Rich family and proceeded to transition into a competitive youth career with Katherine at 8-years-old through college. During this time, Katherine’s keen eye for matching horse with rider, attention to every detail, work ethic, unparalleled professionalism, genuine care for the well-being of the horse and rider and the overall quality program resulted in Saylor’s youth career culminating in countless awards and recognitions within the industry. Including nine National Championships spanning several disciplines mounted on multiple horses that Katherine both selected for our purchase and trained.

Over the years, Saylor developed a love for Dressage. This passion is a direct result of Katherine’s leadership and guidance and will stay with Saylor throughout her lifetime. The work ethic, teamwork, dedication, commitment to hard work, wonders of success and learning to fail and get back up… again and again, has been indelibly instilled within our daughter and has and will continue to influence her life’s decisions. I have been an enthusiastic client at KRE Show Horses for the past nine years. Katherine brought my young three-year-old gelding from the absolute basics to a very successful FEI dressage competitor. Competing at this high level, with a purebred Arabian, is a tough feat in the open shows, but his correct and well-trained movement always keeps him in the ribbons against the big-moving warmbloods. Katherine’s greatest asset is her work ethic and honesty with her clients.

Her gentle, patient, and consistent approach allows the horses to reach their full potential, while maintaining a wonderful work attitude. As a professional, she continues to strive to improve herself with clinics and lessons that enhance her own riding skills and training techniques. I would never have been able to pursue my dream of re-entering the dressage world without her!
